Potatoes are like staple in food across the globe and is used in a number of cuisines. They are not just beneficial for health, but also have skin benefits. This might sound a little weird as usage of potatoes for skin care might not be routine but since they are filled with enzymes, they help to brighten up the skin. They also help to reduce the appearance of the acne scars and dark circles, a problem a number of people complain of due to a changing lifestyle. People who are in their 30s and wish to look younger, potatoes can be included in the skin care routine as well to get rid of the fine lines. Here are a few ways potatoes can be beneficial for the skin.

1. Helps to get rid of dark spots and pigmentation – You just need to grate a potato in a bowl and mix one table spoon of gram flour. Make it in to a thick paste and apply the mixture on the face and allow it to dry. After 20 to 25 minutes or after the mixture dries up completely, rinse off with cold water. Repeat the process at least thrice a week for the best results.

2. Helps to get rid of dark circles – This has the simplest yet effective procedure. You just need a few slices of potatoes after pealing them. Leave those slices on the eyes for a few minutes. If you are having a tough time to leave a raw potato slice on the eyes, the you can also blend a raw potato and extract the juice of it. With the help of a cotton pad dip it in to the potato juice and leave it on the eyes for 20 minutes.

3. Helps to treat sunburns and dryness of the skin – They have cooling benefits. Blend the juice of raw potatoes with curd and apply the mixture on the face for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.
