3 Effective home remedies for treating sun burn at home

Harsh sunlight is never good for the skin. This is the reason why the skin has to be protected with a good sunscreen lotion. Sometimes it can happen that the skin could suffer from sun burns despite applying a sunscreen lotion. This happens if you have not applied the right SPF and is not sufficient. It can lead to conditions wrinkles, dark spots, early ageing or even skin cancer. But the good news is that sun burn can be treated at home with some of the simple ingredients at available at home. Here are a few remedies that can be done at home.

1. Curd – Curd or non-flavoured yoghurt has cooling properties and soothe the skin that is burnt because of the sun. When curd is applied to the sun burnt skin, it helps to reduce the redness and gives a soothing effect and also creates a protective shield around the burnt area so the affected area remains cool.

2. Green tea – Green tea is not just good for the health, but is also good for treating sun-burnt skin as it has anti-inflammatory properties. Take a used green tea bag and allow it to rest in the refrigerator . After the tea bag cools down, keep it pressed, for about 15 minutes for on the affected area. Repeat the process if needed.

3. Aloe Vera – Aloe Vera is one of the most versatile plant that can be used for the skin and the hair in a number of ways. In case of soothing burnt skin, Aloe Vera can be used to tame down. Even if the skin has blisters due to the sun burn, aloe vera gel tames the burning sensation down as it has anti-inflammatory properties. If the gel is applied constantly, it can also bring the skin back to normal.

It is always wise to know the type of your skin and the required SPF for the skin type. Make sure that you apply sun screen lotion at least 30 minutes before you step out of the sun.
