Reports state that he had suddenly flown away from Dubai to the UK just after the match against South Africa, and had stated that he had received death threats for not being fixed for the fourth and the fifth game. In an interview with BBC,  he had disclosed that he was approached by a person just before the fourth match, so that he could be fixed, but he refused.

He later received these death threats thereon, which put him and his family’s life in danger, who are residing in Pakistan. More reports have come up stating that Haider was on the verge of being dropped out of the ODI squad, thanks to cumulative behavior which has brought shame to the PCB.
