During the first half of the day, you remain the most energetic but as the second half hits many people often feel a slump and a decline in their energy levels. Many people also feel like having a power nap or taking rest to deal with the slump feel during the day time. Here we will be discussing about a few ways that you can do to get rid of the day time feeling of lethargy.
- Drink water throughout the day – Water should be considered as a nutrient and not many people are aware of its benefits. Remaining hydrated has a number of benefits for the body and it also helps in remaining alert and energetic during the day time. Drinking water also helps to flush the toxins from the body. Instead of water, you could also drink energy drinks which are sugar free or coconut water which has high potassium levels.
- Give importance to macronutrients – Carbohydrates and fats provide the much needed energy for the body. They are vital for the body as the significant mix of the macronutrients reduces the risk of low glucose levels.
- Eat whole grains – They are enriched with nutrients like Vitamin E, fibre, vitamin B, iron, trace minerals, protein and unsaturated fats fat that provide significant amount of macronutrients. This also aids in balancing the internal system of the body and keeps the mind active even after having a meal.
- Do not have a heavy meal – When you know that you need to keep up your energy levels, make sure that you do not have heavy or unhealthy meals. Make sure you consume a lot of fibre instead of an oily and a heavy meal. Heavy meals can make you feel lethargic and affect your energy levels. Lack of energy levels will also affect your efficiency to work so it is wise to have a hearty and a healthy diet.
