Raw food is beneficial for people who are trying to lose weight as they contain a lot of fibre which helps to absorb the nutrients better. Here are a few foods that should be eaten raw in order to get the best nutrition.

1. Onions – Onion is a basic ingredient in a number of cuisines across the world. It has a different taste when it is cooked with other ingredients or added to curries. But to have the maximum benefit, it is best to have it raw. It tastes great when added to salads or sandwiches. It is good for the heart and the liver.

2. Broccoli – This might sound strange, but broccoli has a number of nutrients that can be best absorbed when eaten raw. It can be found in every house hold and is rich in potassium and calcium. Majority of its nutrients could be wasted, if it is cooked.

3. Coconut – Coconut flesh and coconut water is great for the overall health of the body. Coconut water has plenty of electrolytes which bring instant energy.
