The first coronavirus vaccine was launched in the month of December 2020 and since then there has been a group that supported the vaccine, while others had refused to take the vaccine and questioned its safety. Since then a number of campaigns have been hosted in different countries in order to encourage the people to get vaccinated and help eradicate the virus. One such attempt is being made by American doughnut giant Krispy Crème, who will be giving away a free glazed donut to anyone who comes with a COVID-19 vaccination card. The offer will be valid through 2021. The announcement was made by the company on March 22, 2021.

Dave Skena, the Chief Marketing Officer while talking to a leading daily said that they will do everything little thing that it takes to get people through the pandemic. It has also been said that there are no limits to the free donuts which means any vaccinated person can come every single day for a free donut. The chain has also announced that it will be allowing its employees up to four hours of free time to get themselves vaccinated. Skena added that they hope such steps are also taken by other brands as well.

However, Krispy Crème is not the only company to allow free time for its employees to get vaccinated. Companies like Dollar general and Target are also offering vacation times for the vaccine appointment. On the other hand the companies like Petco, Publix and Kroger are also offering cash or gift cards for its employees who show a proof of vaccination.

Krispy Crème has also said that it will be supporting the workers and volunteers at the vaccination sites with free donuts at some of the centres across the country in the next few weeks. Krispy Crème Doughnuts is owned by JAB Holding Company and was established in the year 1937.
