Keloids are scars that appear on the skin and is usually caused after an injury has been healed. Such a condition is not common, but sometimes the keloid can also become bigger than the actual injury. They are also caused due to the abnormal growth of fibrous tissues and could be shaped irregularly. It could be pink in color and have a smooth appearance and could be progressive in size. The injuries like chickenpox, insect bites and burns. These can be removes with the help of laser or cosmetic treatments but they are expensive. Here we will be discussing about a few remedies that can be done at home.

1. Lemon juice – Fresh lemon juice is very effective as it has vitamin C that works as an anti-oxidant and helps in quick healing of keloids. Apply lemon juice on the affected area with the help of some cotton and it sit for at least 30 minutes. Wash it off with some warm water.

2. Baking soda – Baking soda has abrasive agent and also helps in exfoliating while keeping the skin clean. Take a bowl of baking soda with 3 tsp of hydrogen peroxide and mix them to form a smooth paste. Apply the mixture with the help of a cotton ball on the affected area and let it rest for 20 minutes. Rinse it off with water.

3. Garlic – It has contents that prevents the excess fibroblast increase which is responsible for the keloid to increase. The spice also increases the blood circulation in the affected area which helps in fastening the healing process. You need two garlic cloves and crush them and apply it directly to the scars. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse off with cold water.

4. Honey – Honey is the basic ingredient for a number of beauty regimes. It prevents the dead cells from accumulating in the area and fastens the healing process.
