Our favourite barista, Starbucks is doing us all a favour and bringing in new flavours for the extremely famous Iced Coffees, to beat the summer heat. Patrons have in the past enjoyed addictive drinks such as Pumpkin Spice Latte, Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte, Iced Hazelnut Macchiato – the list goes on. But the Summer of ’16 is going to be extra sweet and special with these two new heavenly additions:
Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew
Anything with vanilla in it is bound to be delicious. Starbucks’ Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew is just that. It’s basically made with a strong iced coffee at the bottom and topped with vanilla sweet cream. The taste ends up being a balanced swirl of strong and bitter versus cloudy and sweet in your mouth.
Nitro Cold Brew
As the name suggests, Nitro Cold Brew is iced coffee blended with nitrogen. Imagine that! Finally, we get to go regular with nitrogen in our food, while formally it was reserved for gourmet and the elite. Starbucks has also taken the extra precaution of brewing this cold drink by serving it through a special tap that stores nitrogen. Patrons can get to see the magic happen before sipping on this awesomeness in a cup.
When it comes to coffee, many shops and chains are really picking up the pace to meet with what customers want and be as inventive as possible, but our beloved Starbucks has definitely come out as the winner. Though it began with the basic cappuccino, espresso, cold coffee and other basic varieties, it has now spread its wings to a whole range of delicious drinks that of course, use coffee as the main ingredient. Last year the world went bonkers when they introduced their special – Pumpkin Spice Latte, that had patrons lining up for hours, not to mention inspiring so many trends like PSL hair highlights. If this is the way Starbucks is going, by quenching our Summer thirst with Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew and Nitro Cold Brew, we can’t wait for fall to arrive for a new range of drinkable surprises!
