M.K. Kaushik gave his resignation as a coach of the Indian Women’s Hockey team after he was claimed to have sexually harassed one of the players. Kaushik declared his resignation on July 21, 2010, Wednesday.

Kaushik says that even if he is cleared of the allegations against him by the inquiry committee, he would not like to continue with the post of the coach. The officials have started the search for the new coach.

Ranjithan Devi, team member of Indian Women’s Hockey alleged that the coach, M K Kaushik sexually harassed the girls of the team. Opposing Ranjithan Devi’s claims, Kaushik and expressing shock over the issue, Kaushik on Wednesday said, “How can I work with players in an atmosphere of antagonism when they have doubted my character. I find it hard to believe that these players have also signed the letter.”

The Indian Women’s Hockey Team is all set to participate in the Asian Champions Trophy in South Korea, starting from July 27 to July 31.
