It has been nearly six months since the coronavirus vaccine nation campaigns have started off across the globe. Despite looking at the death tolls and the number of people who are getting infected, there is still a group that remain reluctant to get themselves vaccinated. For this fast food giant, McDonalds is joining hands with the Biden administration to raise awareness about the COVID-19 vaccination. It will also be helping the customers to find vaccination appointments near them.

An official announcement was made by McDonalds on May 11, 2021 that it will be promoting the We Can Do This campaign on the Time Square billboard later in May. The announcement added that it will also be promoting on the McCafe coffee cups and delivery orders at all of its restaurants in the US starting from July, 2021. The newly printed McCafe hot cups and the delivery stickers will be having the links that will direct the customers to vaccines.gov where they can find more information to get vaccine appointments near them. These vaccines will help the customers to protect themselves from COVID-19.

Some of the recent figures have mentioned that nearly 46 percent of the people in the United States have received at least one COVID-19 shot and nearly 34 percent of the population is fully vaccinated. Xavier Becerra, the HHS Secretary in a statement said that more than 150 million people have been vaccinated and millions more are expected to be vaccinated every day. Becerra also said that in order to bring an end to the pandemic, people need to come together to make efforts and that includes to encourage family and friends to be vaccinated.

The recent decision by McDonalds is expected to spread awareness among the people and help them to make informed decisions about their health. The HHS had launched the We Can Do This : Live initiative in April, 2021 to increase the awareness of vaccines among people and increase people’s confidence.
