Updated Trends: Hurricane Tomas Approaches Haiti, People Unable To Find Proper Shelter And Safety
The Atlantic storm, Hurricane Tomas, is slowly approaching Haiti, and the worst part is that the people are unable to find proper shelter and safety to survive the oncoming storm. The authorities are too worried to predict what Tomas could do to a nation that is already in a state of emergency, epidemic and catastrophe. For the people this is nothing less than Armageddon.
National Hurricane Center has forecast, that the Tomas storm system will be reaching category 1 hurricane stage by Friday before it makes rainfall over Haiti. Including Haiti, most of the West Indies nations have officially alerted the public and have kept a hurricane watch over Tomas.
The Government of Haiti on the other hand has ordered the schools to be closed on Thursday and Friday. The country has still not recovered from the January earthquake, as 1.5 million people in the country are still living in make shift tents as refugees. These people do not have a proper and strong shelter, so that the can be safe during the storm. It is indeed the time of trail and testing for Haiti, as we hope the authorities will provide them with the facility they require.
