A number of companies have rolled out their respective COVID-19 vaccines across the globe. While a number of people have received the jab have got positive results due to it, but there have been a small percentage that have experienced side effects of the vaccine. Due to this some of the countries have imposed a ban on some of the vaccine brands. Currently the health authority in Denmark has announced that it has stopped the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine by Johnson & Johnson.

A statement from the Danish Health Authority mentioned that the vaccine from Johnson & Johnson does not completely rule out the risks of probable side effects in people who have received the vaccine. It added that the decision to drop the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was not easy especially after they had dropped the COVID-19 vaccine by AstraZeneca.

It was further mentioned in the statement that at present the health authorities are not able to prevent the severe illness of COVID-19 and that they cannot take chances of the possible side effects that include blood clots. The decision to prevent the vaccine is going to affect the vaccination rollout for people who are aged between 20 and 39. People from this age group will have to wait for nearly four weeks. People from other age groups will have to face a delay of nearly one week. Meanwhile the government is trying to get large amount of other vaccines.

It has also been said that the decision is also going to affect many people as their vaccinations would be delayed. A number of people will have to wait for a longer time to get their corona passport. Till May 1, 2021 nearly 1.3 million of the country’s population of 5.8 million has received at least one dose of the vaccine. The vaccine by Johnson and Johnson is also known as Janssen. It received an approval to be used across the European Union in the month of March, 2021.
