After a brief wait, new parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave the world a first look of their son on May 8, 2019.The little bundle of joy was first introduced to the Queen and then announce his name Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The name surely came as a surprise for many. Harry and Meghan revealed the name on their Instagram account with a black and white picture of Meghan showing the baby to Queen Elizabeth II and Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
It has been a trend that the British Royals pick up traditional names for their offspring. Predictions were made that the new couple would name their little one as Spencer, Alexander, James, Philip, Arthur and Albert. Not many know that Prince Harryâs name is not Harry but is Henry Charles Albert David. Baby Archie now has his own page on the royal familyâs website and there is no mention of any historical inspiration for his name.
Meanwhile a spokesperson from Kensington palace confirmed that the new royal will not be called as the Earl of Dumbarton, which was a title that was given to Prince Harry by the Queen when he got married. The spokesperson added, “It’s true that they have chosen not to give their son the courtesy title at this time”. The new baby attended the first photocall inside the St. Georgeâs Chapel at Windsor Castle and was seen comfortably cradled in his fatherâs arms.
Archie has become the seventh in line to the British Throne. The little one was born under a partial veil of secrecy on May 6, 2019. Meghan at the photocall was seen wearing a white outfit with heels while the price was seen in a suit. The couple gave a very short interview and then said that they were off to meet the queen. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to do things their own way that is different from the royal traditions.
