So, we all know by now that whenever Taylor Swift writes music, it has a personal story behind the lyrics. So when she dropped Ready For It? a brand new single from her upcoming album, Reputation, who exactly is she talking about? For one, this is definitely a more raunchy, racy side to Swift and fans are SHOOK.
For one, Taylor Swift actually raps! What is happening?! Is Nicki Minaj getting a run for her money with Swift’s new avatar? Also, the sensual lyrics are something out of the page of generic pop stars that turn up the heat with her words and sultry vocals. Some speculate that she wrote the song for Calvin Harris, but others think that it is for her current rumoured beau, British actor Joe Alwyn.
Another interesting factor is that the singer released the song on her Taylor Swift YouTube channel, not the usual TaylorSwiftVEVO channel where she usually releases tracks from her albums and singles.

Ready For It? is the second single from Swift’s upcoming sixth studio album Reputation. The first track, Look What You Made Me Do broke YouTube viewing records, surpassing previous record holder for most views in 24 hours, Adele. Needless to say it was also fodder for tabloids for the past one week or so. From the video, it was obvious this was Taylor Swift’s not-so-swift response to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s famous public shaming last year.
Reputation is already gaining a lot of reputation, but for all the wrong reasons. Another controversy that cropped up was that Swift is releasing her album on November 10, which would be Kanye’s mother, Donda’s 10th death anniversary. Reps for Swift denied the allegations, but Kanye’s fans are already working to sabotage the release of the album, preventing Swift from reaching the #1 spot on iTunes.
