Google has launched Android Nougat 7.0 update on Android phones and has upgraded the version to 7.1.2 for new phones. Android Nougat is Google’s next big launch. Nougat has brought in different new features which will upgrade the technology of your phone. It has been activated on more than 7% devices. Android Nougat is the next version of Google’s mobile OS. It is free of cost. You just need to wait for the update and then download it.
Android Nougat has been pre-loaded on the new Google Pixel and Pixel XL. It is also available on Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, and Google Pixel C. Samsung, LG and other phones are working on their version to install the software but that can take a while.
In Samsung, Nougat is available on Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. In Sony Xperia phones, Android 7.0 Nougat is updated on Xperia X Performance, Xperia X Compact, and Xperia XZ. In HTC, U Ultra already has Nougat updated.
Android Nougat Features –
#1 Multi-window support
The new feature of Split Screen is the highlight of Nougat. You can open two apps and work on both of them at the same time. It is like multi-tasking. You can chat while watching videos. It is easy to operate as well. Just long press on the multitasking button in the navigation bar. There is also a Clear All button which makes it simple to close all your apps at once. There is also a Quick Switch feature, which lets you go back to the previous app with a double tap on multi-tasking button.
#2 Direct Reply Notifications
The next new feature is that now you can reply to any incoming message without navigating away from your current window. You can just answer the message from the notification that appears at the top of the screen. The feature is applicable to all messaging apps like Whatsapp, Hangouts, and others.
#3 New Quick Settings Menu
Google has also added a new quick setting menu to the software. There is a quick settings menu when you pull down the notification bar. The buttons on the menu are small and non-obstructive. It leaves enough space for the notifications. You can sort the menu buttons according to your liking.
#4 Bundled Notifications
The notifications will be grouped together if they are from the same app in the new Android Nougat update. All messages from one specific messaging app will be grouped together in the notification bar. You can also expand these notifications into individual notifications using the all-new expansion button. You can also control over your notifications in Android Nougat. You just have to long-press on the notification to silence it for future notifications or completely turn off the notifications.
#5 Doze Mode 2.0
To save battery, you can keep your phone on Doze Mode when you’re not using your phone. It is a standby mode. It limits your background tasks whenever you are not using your phone. It will save battery power of the phone and will keep your phone on for a longer time.
#6 Android Nougat new dimension
The biggest leap forward in graphics performance of Google has been the new feature known as Vulkan in Nougat. Vulkan gives game developers more control of the GPU. It gives better graphics and faster performance.
#7 Google Assistant
Google has replaced the voice of Google Now with a new voice of Google Assistant on Android 7 on Pixel and Pixel XL. You will be able to use all the features of Google Assistance without embarrassingly talking to your phone.
#8 OS that speaks your language
Google has launched this new feature which could bring your words to life with new emojis and more languages. There are over 1500 emojis including 72 new ones. Local languages have also been added.
#9 Security Updates
Android Nougat has taken a step forward in security updates as well. Software updates download in the background, so one doesn’t need to wait while the device sync. Apps run securely after starting your device even before you enter your password.
#10 Launcher Shortcuts
Google has also launched the new ‘Launcher Shortcuts’ in Android Nougat. It is for the pressure-sensitive display technology.
