Remember when we just loved her for being Posh Spice from the Spice Girls? Well, Victoria Beckham has come a long way since then. Today, she is the proud wife, mother and of course, fashion designer who is changing trends on the regular. And as recognition for her huge contribution to fashion, Victoria Beckham received the Officer of the Most Excellent Order (OBE) from Prince William.
For her special honour, her family surrounded her and cheered her on. Her parents, father Jackie Adams and mother Tony Adams, along with husband David Beckham and sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz and daughter, Harper, were all in attendance. Prince William is actually a very close friend of the family who attended his wedding to Kate Middleton back in 2011.
Victoria Beckham, proud of her achievement, excitedly said, “It was an absolute pleasure to be at Buckingham Palace today. I’m proud to be British, honored and humbled to receive my OBE from the Duke of Cambridge. If you dream big and work hard, you can accomplish great things. I’m so happy to share this very special occasion with my parents and husband. Without their love and support, none of this would be possible.”
Victoria joins husband David Beckham as a fellow OBE awardee. He received the honor back in 2003 for his contribution to football. Though that honor was tainted after secret emails were leaked where he criticized the establishment, his wife has gone on to achieve the very same award.
Romeo Beckham, the middle son of David and Victoria, later took to his Instagram to congratulate his mother as her proud son. He captioned his image: “I want to say how proud I am of my mum today as she received her OBE…She works so hard and really deserves this honor..We love you mum x.”
