It has been reported that half of the mobile phones sold in the Asian market by the year 2015 will be comprising of smartphones. It has been predicted that some 477 million units will be sold by that year. As per the consultancy firm, Frost and Sullivan, they have stated that the Asian market will comprise 54% of smartphones in the next five years.

The current market of smartphone in Asia is 5% in 2009, if reached 54% by 2015 it will be an extremely steep rise. The usage revenue will be $38 billion by the purchases of smartphones. Smartphones are way advanced than normal cellphones, it has emailing capability, internet usage, video streaming and 3G feature, that is the reason they are called smartphones.

Reports have said that there has been significant usage of the smartphones in the business field, and emerging markets like China, India and Indonesia are more interested in purchasing smartphones. One of the main reasons that there has been a boost in the smartphone market, is because of the handsets produced and launched by BlackBerry and iPhone in the Asia-Pacific region.
