For adults it is advisable that dietary fat must be limited to not more than 20 to 30 percent of the total daily calories.Trans fats and saturated fats can be harmful for health and increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Here is a list of foods which provide most of the total fat.

1. Oil in food – Oil is considered among the most fattiest of all foods and comprise 100 percent fat. But still many oils like olive oil, canola and safflower contain monounsaturated as well as polyunsaturated fats which are actually healthy for the health of the heart.

2. Meat – Not all meat can be considered as fatty. Beef and pork labeled meat is considered as lean fat, while bacon is considered to be the fattiest of all meats as it has 42% grams fat per 100 gms of food.

3. Dry fruits or nuts – Dry fruits or nuts like peanuts and walnuts have high total fat content, but the good news is that it is has healthier monounsaturated and polyunsaturated origins. These nuts should be taken in moderations. But there are also certain nuts like almonds which have less fat with 15 grams of total fat.

4. Milk products – There are some dairy products like cream cheese and heavy cream which have the highest fat content. The dairy products are normally high in both total fat and saturated fat.

5. Baked goods – Tempting muffins, cakes and pastries have a lot of fat in them as they are made with butter and vegetable oil. Besides, they also have high-sugar content and should be taken in moderation or avoided completely.

Try to avoid junk food like burgers, fried chicken, and oily snacks so that you don’t put yourself at risk of heart diseases.
