Freddie used to look really sick for the past two to three years before his death. And just a day before his death he said, “Following enormous conjecture in the press, I wish to confirm that I have been tested HIV positive and have AIDS. I felt it correct to keep this information private in order to protect the privacy of those around me. However, the time has now come for my friends and fans around the world to know the truth, and I hope everyone will join me, my doctors and all those worldwide in the fight against this terrible disease.”

According to one of Freddie’s long time companion, Mary Austin, he had decided to end his life by giving up his medication. She also said that he was deteriorating day by day and was also loosing weight. It was hard to see him suffer everyday. One fine day he decided to give up and stopped all his medications.

Mary also added that Freddie was very brave till the end, and died peacefully with a smile on his face. We wish his Soul Rest In Peace!
