The recent Earthquake in Serbia has reported to have killed two people and has left dozens injured in the region. The quake struck the city of Kraljevo, where electricity and other services have been disrupted, and in addition to this, the city has also taken substantial damage due to the strong tremors.

According to officials at the Serbian seismological institute, the earthquake measured 5.6 magnitude on the Richter scale, and struck the region at 01.56 am local time, with its epicenter located some 10 kms north to the city of Kraljevo. News agencies have confirmed that two elderly people were killed inside their house when the quake struck.

The rescue workers have started to search for people stuck under the rubble or the debris of the buildings, but have found none. The emergency medical team is said to be treating dozens of people who have been injured in the midnight earthquake. The tremors of the quake were felt almost as far as the capital in Belgrade, and its surrounding regions.
