The government volcanologists have given their conclusion about Mount Merapi, stating that the eruption could last for days, weeks, or even months in a stretch.

The last major explosion on Monday lasted for more than five minutes, spewing hot gas and debris into the sky, causing evacuation from the near by settlements and villages. On the other hand, the volcanic eruption has caused issues with the airlines and the air traffic in Indonesia. Air authorities have warned airlines to avoid the skies about the Java islands.

The President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, has made plans to visit the people who have been affected by the eruption and who are residing in make shift government rescue camps. The eruption, since last Tuesday, has already killed 37 people in Indonesia, and authorities are trying their best not to let this number increase.
