American coffee house Starbucks is facing a tough time as it is facing shortage of some of the ingredients like oat milk. Starbucks has a few customers who prefer their brew with oat milk or almond milk as a substitute for regular milk. When a user opens the Starbucks application, they can see a warning that shows the absence of certain menu options.

The warning has mentioned that due to supply shortage, some of the favourite items could be temporarily out of stock. Sanja Gould, a spokesperson from Starbucks emailed a statement to a leading daily that mentioned that the shortages will be varying by store or market. Oat milk is a non-dairy option and has been removed from the menu on a temporary basis on some of the Starbucks stores. This would also mean that other drinks that also contain oat milk will not be available until the shortage is fulfilled.

Another report has mentioned that the orders for the ingredients like Chai bags and hazelnut syrup have been put on hold on a temporary basis due to the supply chain issues. The supply problems are also being faced by other businesses due to the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the stores have also reported that they are facing a shortage of cake pops and cup stoppers. Although the company could not have been blamed for the situation, but some of the loyal customers expressed their disappointment on social media as they were not able to purchase their favourite items.

It was in the month of March, when Starbucks introduced an option that could be added to the drinks. The company had also introduced some of the drinks like Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. But then just within a month, the company reported of shortage of oat milk due to high demand. Starbucks also announced that it would once again allow customers to bring in their reusable cups that was put on hold due to the pandemic.
