Updated Trends: Khatta Meetha Film Review – Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan Star In Priyadarshan’s Film

Khatta Meetha a remake version of ‘Vellanakalude Nadu’, a Priyadarshan film is not much different from the original 1989 flick. The only difference being that the protagonist in original film was a Malyali, played by Mohanlal and in the recent one the protagonist is a Maharashtrian, played by Akshay Kumar.

Khatta Meetha is a blunt attempt on political satire,in which the director has miserably failed. Akshay is the protagonist of the film, who essays the role of a middle class Maharashtrian man called as Sachin Tichkule.

The film talks about the same common problems like corruption and bureaucratic pressures but fails to tackle these issues in fresh manner. The film does not seem result oriented.

The lead actress, Trisha Krishnan, who has debuted with the film had nothing to display her potential as an actress.

Reports say that the film can be rated as below average, since there is nothing that it can boast of since it has not lived up well to the hype that was created in the media and Bollywood.

It is time for Bollywood, to focus on the other aspects of cinema and possibly cover more realistic issues.
