UpdatedTrends.com: If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to lose weight or just eat healthier, we might have a solution. Here are 3 foods you should avoid in 2014.
1. Skim milk – Even though this might come as a surprise, nonfat is not the best option if your goal is to lose a couple of pounds. Your body needs a little bit of fat in order to absorb vitamin D and removing fat might affect acne and fertility. In addition to that, fat is satiating, so avoiding skim dairy products will prevent junk-food cravings and keep you full.
2. Cereal – There is no denying that this comfort food is loved by many, but the reality is that cereals are heavily processed, high in carbs and usually rich in added – and unnecessary – sugars. This means that they do not have much to provide when it comes to nutrition and they are super easy to overdo, as the majority of us know. With the exception of the oatmeal, the cereal aisle is not doing anything for you and your health.
3. Soda – Both regular and diet soda have their issues, so make sure to avoid them altogether in 2014. While regular soda offers you a massive hit of sugar, diet versions are there to increase your cravings for sweets, in addition to having plenty of added chemicals. Replace sodas with water, lemonade and tea and you will feel – and look – much better.
