UpdatedTrends.com: The majority of people are under stress on a daily basis and its negative effects can take a toll on our body in the form of headaches, upset stomach, fatigue, insomnia, muscle tension, weight loss or gain and elevated blood pressure. The good news is that there are 4 simple ways which will help us in reducing the levels of stress and increase our energy and optimism.
1. Get out – Leave your house or the office for a quick 15-minute walk, as a change of scenery and a natural environment can be very helpful. If the weather permits, go outside because it will get you out of your usual environment, or if it is too cold or raining, try basic stretching exercises or yoga indoors.
2. Take a deep breath – When under stress, people tend to take shallow breaths, or even hold their breath in some cases. Try taking deep, slow breaths instead, as they will help you in becoming more relaxed and de-stressed.
3. Eat a healthy diet – Keep in mind that you should incorporate more fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet, as they can significantly boost your immune system. This is important because when your immune system is weak, you are exposed to various infections and your body is placed in a state of physical stress.
4. Be positive – Look on the bright side of life and acknowledge the good things you have, not the ones you do not, as least for now. People with negative attitudes will more frequently report stress than those with a positive outlook.
