4 Ways of boosting your metabolism

Most people have a slow metabolism, so if you are experiencing difficulties with losing weight, but are able to gain weight pretty quickly, keep in mind that you are not the only one with this problem. Here are ways to boost your metabolism in a natural way.

1. Intense exercise in the morning – A quick and intense workout soon after you wake up can do amazing things for your metabolism. Do not make excuses, as it takes only 5 minutes of intense exercise – such as jumping jacks, running in place or lunges – to reap the benefit for the rest of the day.

2. Drink plenty of water – We all know water is beneficial for us in so many ways, but one of them is that it helps our metabolism increase, because the metabolic process requires water to fuel it. Make sure to drink 8 glasses of water a day, preferably alkaline one.

3. Keep your thyroid healthy – The thyroid needs zinc, copper, selenium and iodine in order to function efficiently. Keep in mind that your body needs these minerals, so include more seafood and nuts into your diet.

4. Do not skip breakfast – Because of the fast-paced lives most of us lead, we usually skip breakfast or grab a quick bite of something that is nutrient poor. Try to incorporate a healthy breakfast into your daily routine and eat fruit rich in antioxidants, such as strawberries and blueberries, or healthy protein like eggs from chickens raised on pastures.
