Updated Trends: Ship Hijacked In The Red Sea
According to the European Union Naval Force Somalia, a ship flagged off from Marshall Islands have been hijacked by the pirates.
The naval force informed that the attempts to contact the vessel after notification have been in vain.
The International bureau, Maritime, that monitors the piracy informed that the overall number of pirate attacks have been declined sharply as compared to the last year.
But, the bureau warned that the pirates are increasing their range up to 1,000 nautical miles out to sea from Somalia because of the international patrolling near the sea shores.
The naval force had informed that the vessel, MT Motivator was a chemical tanker loaded with oil, with 18 crew members, all citizens of Filipino were on board.
The crew members informed the officials that they have been attacked in the northern Bab Al Mandeb area on Sunday.
