Updated Trends: Wikileaks is still being grilled by the United States, and reports have come in, which says the country had asked Twitter Inc. to hand over some private messages of a Wikileaks supporter. This supporter is none other than an Icelandic MP named Birgitta Jonsdottir, who is now fighting against the US Department of Justice to get back her personal messages from twitter.

She told the press “USA government wants to know about all my tweets and more since november 1st 2009. Do they realize I am a member of parliament in Iceland?” It is really sad to see here, where the US is trying to investigate a politician who they state, may still have links with Wikileaks.

Birgitta was a former volunteer to the Wikileaks project, and she is quite annoyed with the US, as the Department of Justice has not only asked for her personal tweets but something more than that too. According to her, US has now gone over the top, as they are now trying to access everything that is personal to her from the web. Twitter messages are mostly public, but a user can also post private messages to a particular person or organization.
