Updated Trends: New England Sports Venture Could Takeover Liverpool
The New England Sports Venture could reportedly take over sports club Liverpool, a deal that could become historic in the world of sports. Liverpool Chairman Martin Broughton, too is quite sure that this deal could have a go very soon. The New England Sports Venture is headed by John Henry. Mr. Martin is reportedly waiting for the right moment to go ahead with the deal, but for the moment, he is trying to get some legal confirmation from his team — just in case Tom Hicks and George Gillett object.
Mr. Martin is seeking a legal statement from the court, which states that they have the right to sell the club to whomsoever they want, despite the objection by Tom Hicks and George Gillett. Questions arise that how could Hick and Gillett opinions be ousted even after being part owners.
When Tom Hicks and George Gillett joined Liverpool, it was stated that any decision of the board could go ahead with a majority vote. As Christian Purslow and Ian Ayre who too are part of the club and have their interest with Mr. Martin, it is autonomous that majority interest won.
