A fast pace lifestyle is what many people have adopted. As a result, people with such a lifestyle become prone to health issues including high blood pressure or hypertension. The problem of high blood pressure has become a common phenomenon among the youngsters as well. This was a term that was earlier related to old age but now the progress in lifestyle and stress has made even the youngsters vulnerable. Here are a few factors that can cause hypertension.
1. Being a couch potato – There are hundreds of people who have a 9 to 5 desk job and it becomes mandatory to sit for a longer time which leads to weight gain. The heart needs to be exercised and is like any other muscle in the body. People who have a desk job must get up at intervals and take a 15 minute walk. You can also add a few exercises to your everyday routine that will keep your blood pressure at check.
2. Too much of alcohol – A few drinks are ok during the weekend, but too much of it and making it a habit can be bad for health. Consuming too much of alcohol can lead to high blood pressure. It is advisable to consume alcohol in moderation and indulge in detoxification at least thrice a month.
3. Stress – Stress is a factor that can hardly be avoided. Be it at the work place or some personal issues can lead to stress which cannot be avoided. But there are ways to deal with it. Indulge in meditation on an everyday basis and make it a habit. You can also indulge in activities that make you feel happy.
4. Not having a balanced diet – Not consuming a balanced diet can deprive the body of a few nutrients. If the body does not get proper nutrients then it can affect the proper functioning of the body and also affect the heart health.
