Apply sunscreen
One of the first things you need to do is grab your sunscreen when the UV rays hit. At least SPF 30+ and above should be applied generously onto skin. And if you plan on being outdoors in the sun for an extended period of time, don’t forget to re-apply the sunscreen after 2-3 hour intervals.
Drink water
During the summer, you tend to sweat more. This makes you lose all the moisture in your body. Make sure that you drink at least 6-8 glasses of water every day. Another great thing about keeping yourself hydrated is that you prevent yourself from eating junk food and replacing thirst with salt.
Avoid smoothies
It’s better to eat your fruits and veggies, rather than drinking them. Also, smoothies contain hidden additives like sugars that aren’t good for health in the long run. Any sweet refresher – from sodas to ice cream to sorbet, are ridden with sugar and other unhealthy calories.
Skincare
The summer is a very tricky season. Skin can sweat and it can also end up getting dried, peeling with the tan. It’s important to keep your skin fresh by bathing daily and applying a moisturizer that works for the summer season. Your best bet would be sunscreen, but use a product that is suitable to your skin type.
Hair protection
What people don’t realize about summer, is that they forget to take care of their tresses. Skin is always protected, but the hair is left to wave in the warm breeze. However, the harmful rays from the midday sun could dry out your hair and cause it to break. Also, if you’re the kind who dyes their hair, you need to make sure you protect it from the sun.
Swimming
One of the best ways that you can keep yourself active is taking part in a fun sport for summer! Hitting the gym or going for jogs can leave you sweating. But imagine if you head to the swimming pool and take a dive. Not only does it work great as a workout, but you also feel refreshed after.
