Updated Trends: Pakistan Still Feels India Is A Big Threat, Along With Separate Threat From Militants
The Pakistan Security Officials stated that the Pakistan army is being misinterpreted, and that Pakistan has different threats from militants and India, which are not supposed to be compared as claimed by the Wall Street Journal.
Security Officials in Pakistan said, “These are two mutually exclusive threats. The magnitude, the type, is quite different. One is an internal threat which is insidious, difficult to quantify. It is a clear and present danger. This is a very serious threat. The other is a conventional threat. What has India done, politically and militarily, for this threat to have been reduced?”.
The other official says that the country disapproves India’s involvement in Afghanistan’s war against Pakistan, whereas, India out rightly denies any such involvement and says that it’s all concerned about the development of Afghanistan and is not backing the separatists.
