Updated Trends: Parliament Committee Presents Report On Controversial Nuclear Liability Bill In India
The Indian Parliamentary Committee has presented its report on the controversial Nuclear Liability Bill today. The new reports have been presented to the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, even though there has been strict protest from the Left Parties and the Upper house.
The reports have been submitted amidst a lot of commotion and protest from the Left, and it is an important report that will put light over India’s relation with different countries in the respect of the Nuclear deals and operating the Nuclear power for civilian purposes.
The reports were presented by Chairman, T. Subbirami Reddy to the Rajya Sabha, and member Pradeep Tamta to the Lok Sabha. The reports followed a strong uproar in the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha which has been adjourned till 14.00 pm today. The reports have been finalized by the committee after the government agreed to raise the compensation from 500 crores to 1500 crores. This report also plays an important role India’s future Nuclear trade relations and development.
