Updated Trends: California Rejects Ban On Plastic Bags In The State
The lawmakers in the state of California have rejected the bill of banning the use of plastics completely. If the bill had to be approved, California could have become the first state to do so. The bill failed on a 14-21 vote and had caused a huge uproar in the plastic manufacturing industry.
The industries had spent a lot on advertisements and is providing jobs to thousands of people, it the bill had to be done in, then thousand would have lost their jobs, plus the job situation in the US is not so good. The ban that was been hailed by Governor Schwarzenegger would have stopped pharmacies, food marts, mega stores and other general out lets from using them.
The ban could have been a necessity in the state of California and would have affected all the grocery stores who are still using them. The Ban forces people to use reusable bags for their daily chores at the general market.
