Ever felt those expensive scrubs on store shelves are too heavy on your pocket? Use of just a few ingredients that should generally be found at home, you can prepare these inexpensive scrubs and your skin will feel great as if you’ve done a spa treatment!
Exfoliating scrubs have two parts to them – emollients & exfoliants. The emollients help the exfoliants adhere to and glide over your skin, gently polishing it and removing dead skin cells. It’s the perfect way to keep your skin soft and flake-free.
Immense care needs to be taken for the type of exfoliant you use of which part of your skin on the body. Sugar is great for the lips, but the granules might be too harsh for the face, especially if you have sensitive skin. For the face, we want to use a smaller grain. Baking soda is perfect for it’s sloughing effects but not to apply on delicate areas like around the eyes. In addition, we’ll be adding essential oils for their soothing aromas, and lemon juice for it’s clarifying citric acid.
Usage – Apply the scrub on your skin by gently massaging circular motion using light pressure on delicate areas for unto one minute. Follow with a warm water rinse and pat dry with a towel. Do not use soap to clean face. The lip scrub is safe for daily use; however, the face and body scrubs should only be used 1 to 2 times a week.
