1. Avoid the morning scavenger hunt – Not being able to find your sports bra or sneaker is not a valid excuse for missing out on your morning run. Make sure to prepare everything that you need the night before, as it will only take a couple of minutes and you will avoid stressing out and frantically searching for things in the morning.

2. Gear up – Keep in mind that you should also get any gear needed ready. Find your favorite fitness DVD, charge your iPod, put your dumbbells next to the TV or place your yoga mat by the door.

3. Eat – Working out on an empty stomach is not good for your energy levels or your metabolism, so try making a little snack in advance and keep it in the fridge. Apple slices with some cheese or a slice of whole-wheat toast with peanut butter are excellent choices before your workout.

4. Early to bed – Go to bed on time and make sure you are well rested before hitting the gym the following morning. If you have a habit of hitting the snooze button too many times, put your alarm clock on the other side of the room.
