Stomach pain is never pleasant and one has to be able to understand as to what exactly is the cause of it. While you are focusing on the pain, you might not be able to completely understand what is causing the pain and how to get rid of it. To get rid of the pain, you need to first understand what kind of stomach pain you are suffering from. Here we will be discussing about a few reasons for your stomach pain and how to recognize them.
1. Heartburn or acidity – In case of gases in the stomach, you could experience pain in the upper abdomen and could also experience a bitter taste in the mouth. This could happen if you have had a large greasy meal and created acids in the stomach and does not have a way to escape while making you uncomfortable and bloated.
2. Appendicitis – You could experience a sharp pain on the lower right side of the abdomen. This could indicate appendicitis, especially when it is combined with a low-grade fever and constipation. Such a pain tends to increase when you try to move around, cough or sneeze.
3. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) – If the person who is experiencing abdominal pain with bloating, and a change in bowel habits like constipation and diarrhea then there are chances that it could be IBS. It is a common problem and the causes of it are still not known.
4. Gall stones – In case of gall stones you could experience a dull pain near the shoulder and it could emerge after eating a fatty meal. Females who are above the age of 40 and have children are at greater risk. This happens due to a spike in the estrogen levels which is common during pregnancy.
5. Diverticulitis – This pain can be experienced in the lower left area of the abdomen and is a kind of inflammation of small pouches known as diverticula that can be formed in the large intestine. This is common among the older adults but does not cause any symptoms.
