Tooth or gum ache have the ability to spoil your entire day as they can be really painful. But Not many are aware that before you get ready to go to the dentist, there are a few home remedies that can help to sooth the pain. Tooth ache happens as we often fail to take good care of the teeth and gums. Apart from taking good care of the teeth, it is also important to see a dentist on a regular basis. At the same time it is also important to remember understand that you cannot always depend on home remedies and know when you need to rush to the doctor. Here are a few quick home remedies that can be taken to get some relief from tooth ache.
1. Cold compress treatment – If you do not have a proper ice-pack, you can just wrap a few ice cubes in a packet or a cloth and put it against the mouth where the teeth hurts or the gum aches. Just make sure that you do not put it directly to the gums and teeth. Such a procedure helps to reduce the pain and swelling.
2. Mouth wash with salt water – Add a spoonful of salt to a glass of warm water. Mix the solution properly and take a sip of it and allow it to swish it in your mouth. Gargling with salt water cleans the mouth of all the food that might be stuck between the teeth or in the gums which might be causing pain. This procedure also helps to clean the gums and reduces swelling.
3. Drink turmeric milk – Turmeric can be called as a magic spice that is often used in Asian cuisines. It has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to reduce any kind of swelling and also kills bacteria. Mix half a spoon of turmeric powder and one teaspoon of sugar in to hot milk and drink it. You can also apply the mixture to the gums or allow the milk to stay in the mouth for a while before drinking it.
4. Keep a clove – Close is a spice that works like wonders in tooth ache. In case of a tooth ache, you can just keep a clove on the affected tooth and see it work.
