Sparkling jewelry is the best! But sometimes, it might not be possible to have shining gold, silver and diamonds. Jewelry, like all other things undergoes wear and tear, and ultimately loses its sheen. So here are a few easy ways to clean your jewelry at home as opposed to abandoning them in your drawer.
1. Vinegar cleaning – This is the easiest way to clean your jewelry as you just have to dip the jewels in to the vinegar and allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove the jewellery and scrub with a soft brush if needed.
2. Antacid cleaning – Not many are aware that even antacid can help to clean up jewelery. Just drop two antacid tablets in a bowl of warm water and dip the jewellery. Allow them to sit for about two minutes, remove and rinse off.
3. Aluminum foil cleaning – Make a tray of the silver foil and line up the jewelry on the foil. Sprinkle a layer of baking soda over the jewelry and the tarnish will transfer to the foil from the jewelry.
4. Simple soap and water – If you do not want to take any risk with your expensive trinkets, then even simple soap and water will work. Take cup of warm water and then, add a few drops of mild detergent. Dip them for a few minutes and rinse off. Make sure that you dry them for many hours before storing them.
