Cooked food is a great way to improve the taste. There are a number of foods that need to be cooked but there are also foods that need no cooking and are better off to be eaten raw. These are the foods that have the nutrients that you could get best when eaten raw. Raw food is beneficial for people who are trying to lose weight as they contain a lot of fibre which helps to absorb the nutrients better. Here are a few foods that should be eaten raw in order to get the best nutrition.

1. Onions – Onion is a basic ingredient in a number of cuisines across the world. It has a different taste when it is cooked with other ingredients or added to curries. But to have the maximum benefit, it is best to have it raw. It tastes great when added to salads or sandwiches. It is good for the heart and the liver.

2. Broccoli – This might sound strange, but broccoli has a number of nutrients that can be best absorbed when eaten raw. It can be found in every house hold and is rich in potassium and calcium. Majority of its nutrients could be wasted, if it is cooked.

3. Coconut – Coconut flesh and coconut water is great for the overall health of the body. Coconut water has plenty of electrolytes which bring instant energy. It is best for the athletes who constantly need energy while they are practicing. Coconut also contains magnesium, potassium and sodium which improves the immunity of the body. It can be added to sorbets and the flesh could be added to salads. It can also be used as a garnish for a number of cuisines.

4. Nuts – Nuts when roasted or boiled could lose its nutritional value. They are best when eaten raw. Walnuts, cashew nuts, almonds, dry grapes are some of the dry fruits which can be eaten raw for having the best nutrients.
