Cheat Snacks To Keep You Full And Happy At Work

While working tirelessly on a report and more unfinished business, one does need a few munchies on hand to keep up with the hectic workday. Like a comforting friend that assures you everything is going to be alright, a little crunching in the mouth keeps you satiated all the time. With all the stress, instead of biting your fingernails, how about chewing on some delicious, though healthy snacks that are great for health and make a lazy work day that much more interesting.

Here are Cheat Snacks To Keep You Full And Happy At Work:

Dark Chocolate

Can I hear an AMEN?! Chocolate is so good! And scientific studies have proven that this delicious piece of heaven is great for health and helps curb cholesterol. But I’m not talking about the milk or white kind. This is the pure, above-70% variety. To prevent you from wolfing down the whole bar (because who wouldn’t?), remember that you need to eat upto 2 squares in day. Anything more will actually cause health problems, including stomach aches and intestinal problems.

Chickpeas

Hummus dip and whole wheat pita bread are all the rage now. The amount of protein packed into these Middle-eastern beans is stiff competition for meats. You can have chickpeas however you want. A fun way to munch on them without creating a mess at your desk (you can’t really eat spoonfuls of hummus), try roasting chickpeas in the oven and coasting them with salt and spicy herbs. This will retain the nutrients without making you pack on the pounds.

Cereal

Why not take your breakfast out to work? You do have the option of adding almond milk or any other healthy milk of your choice, or you can just eat it plain. And I’m not talking about Lucky Charms, because celestial-shaped marshmallows do not count as healthy food! Muesli or any grain-based pack will do, and you can even toss in some fruit and toasted nuts. Make sure you set aside a bowl, or you might end up chowing down an entire packet.

Nutribars

Take your cereal game to another level by packing along some nutribars. Many nutritionists swear by them, especially before or after a workout. However, make sure that you check the packaging for any weird ingredients like corn syrup, added sugars or artificial flavourings. You can even make them at home by backing some quick oats with a few nuts and raisins, dried fruits and honey with dates, and voila, you’ve got yourself a healthy tag-along for a tiring day.

Fruits & Veggies

Healthy snacking should not be boring. There are so many new exotic veggies being introduced to the market. Pack along some healthy dip like vegan mayonnaise or hummus and enjoy a fulfilling and soul-calming crunchy meals between meals!
