Winter is a time when dryness haunts the entire body and hands show us the first signs of dryness in the season. Some people experience hands so dry that the hands begin to crack and bleed. Cracking means, it the normal activities begin to slow due to the pain. Here are a few ways by which you can prevent cracking and dryness during winter.
1. Wear gloves while washing and cleaning – Washing and cleaning are the basic chores of every house and out hands often come in contact with water while cleaning. To avoid contact with water, it is ideal to wear gloves that will protect you from water and will prevent dryness. Moreover, cleaning material used at homes are usually harsh for the skin.
2. Wash hands with gentle soaps – Instead of using harsh liquid handwash soaps, you must use a gentle handwash for effective yet mild cleaning of hands or its takes away the natural oils of the skin.
3. Apply moisturizer immediately after handwash – After washing hands, apply a moisturizer immediately when the hands are moist. Moist hands help to absorb the moisturizer deep in to the skin.
4. Moisturize nails and cuticles as well – It is not just essential to moisturize your hands but also moisturize your cuticles and nails.
