Winter ushers in festivities, food and much more, but one thing it doesn’t settle to well on is your skin. Winter does not treat skin kindly, more than often, it leads to dry and flaky skin that needs intense care.
Here are a few easy and natural ways to moisturize your skin this winter.
1. Apply honey – Honey is known to have anti-microbial properties which helps to maintain the skin’s moisture throughout the harsh winter. Just apply honey on the skin and leave it for 15 minutes, rinse off with cold water thereafter.
2. Fruit face pack – Papaya and yoghurt make for a great dry skin face pack, it helps the skin to regain its softness and suppleness. Papaya has plenty of vitamin E and C, and is also rich in anti- oxidants. Mash a ripe papaya and mix it with half a cup of yoghurt, add some drops of lemon and honey, apply the mixture onto the skin and leave it for ten minutes. Rinse off with cold water.
3. Eggs and Olive oil – Mix an egg yolk with olive oil and some honey, apply it on your face with some luke warm water. Leave the mixture for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse off with cold water.
4. Ripe banana – Instead of throwing away overripe bananas, make use of them in a face pack. Mash the bananas and mix it with two tablespoons of yoghurt and honey. Apply the mixture with a brush on the skin and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes.
