4 Tips to avoid feeling lethargic post lunch

Avoid feeling lethargic post lunch with these simple tips.

No one can claim to be bright and chirpy during post lunch office hours! Lethargy and tiredness takeover and the clock seems to tick slower. However there are ways to overcome this helpless feeling.

Here’s what you can do to avoid feeling lethargic post lunch.

1. Begin your day healthy – To feel energetic throughout the day, it is essential that you make a healthy start. Have a cup of hot lemon water and 30 minutes later, you can have a bowl of oats with some fruits. Keep breakfast a heavy, but nutritious affair. This will help you to pull though the whole day with great gusto.

2. Do not overeat – Even if your colleague has the most delicious food, do not overeat. Overeating is one of the main culprits that can make you feel extremely lethargic and drowsy.

Switch to having smaller meals with nutritious foods. Swap you coleslaw which is slathered in mayo for a light green salad, avoid sodas and opt for fresh fruit juices instead.

3. Keep sipping water – A dehydrated body is a tired body. Lack of water in the body can easily cause lethargy and tiredness. Under such situations, it is recommended that you keep sipping water every 10 to 20 minutes. Not only will this make you feel fresh, but will also help to keep you energized throughout the day.

4. Take a stroll post lunch – The worst mistake you can make post lunch is to go back to your desk and settle there till late evening. After eating lunch, take a walk in and around your office. This will help with digestion and consequent energizing of the body.
