Updated Trends: Clean Up Vessels Return As Tropical Storm Moves In The Gulf Of Mexico
All the vessels involved in the oil clean up in the Gulf of Mexico have been called back and they are scheduled to resume work after the tropical storm clears the Gulf.
The relief well drilling process has been pushed back 10 days due to the storm. But the operation involved in pumping mud into the oil,in order to completely plug the well could resume in three to four days.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has stated, that this storm would at least help in cleaning up the beaches. The drilling ship, Development Driller 3, which was scheduled to drill the relief well has stopped its operations, and has been called back along with two other ships.
As per Admiral Thad Allan, he states that the relief work would end by August, if the storms shows some mercy. He added that for the moment we are playing a cat and mouse game for the oncoming hurricane season.
