1. It does not contain any vitamins or minerals: Sugar is just a source of energy, but does not contain any minerals or vitamins. This means that sugar offers only empty calories. If you indulge in sugary treats too much, it is possible that you will become deficient in some minerals.

2. Cancer: Consuming too much sugar can cause cancer. Studies have shown that people who consume too much sugar are at a higher risk of developing cancer than the ones who do not.

3. It is addictive: As the majority of us already know, sugar is addictive. When our body consumes large amounts of sugar, it releases feel-good hormones and due to this, you can become addictive to sugar.

4. It can be as bad as alcohol: Not many people are aware that sugar can cause a similar effect on our liver as alcohol. More sugar increases the risk of some liver diseases and can also have toxic effects on the body.
