A research proved that people with the biggest smiles live an average of 79.9 years, which is two years longer than the average lifespan in the United States. In addition to that, the research showed that baseball players who did not smile in pictures lived an average of 72.9 years, which is seven years less.

2. Makes you feel better: You should try smiling even at times when you do not feel like it. Just by making certain changes in your facial expressions can help in improving the mood. Try making yourself happy instead of waiting for someone else to make you happy.

3. Smile can make someone else happy: Research says that smiling can be contagious and this is because people tend to copy emotional expressions of people around us.

4. Makes relationships stronger: This one is for couples. Smiling and having a positive outlook on life can contribute to the longevity of your marriage.
