UpdatedTrends.com: You are committed to your fitness routine and eating healthier foods, but still not seeing a lot of progress when you step on the scale? Even though you are doing your best, there are a few reasons why you are not losing weight.
1. You do not drink water – Drinking water is beneficial for us in many ways. Besides that fact that water keeps you hydrated, it can also help with losing weight. Eating plenty of fruits and veggies (which contain water) can fill you up faster and a glass of water before a meal encourages portion control. In addition to that, drinking cool water speeds up your metabolism and makes you crave juice and soda less.
2. You overeat healthy foods – Incorporating healthy foods like avocados, nuts, olive oil, dark chocolate and whole wheat pasta into your menu is great, but keep in mind that even though these foods are healthy and natural, they still contain calories. With this in mind, make sure to check serving sizes of your favorite healthy foods.
3. You do cardio only – Cardio workouts are great, but they are not complete without weight training. Weight training helps in preventing injury by strengthening the joints, in addition to increasing your metabolic rate and building muscle mass. Once your metabolism is revved up, you will continue to burn calories long after a workout.
