Best foods for healthy skin

UpdatedTrends.com: A good and healthy diet is the key to keep your skin healthy and glowing. Eating healthy means eating fresh, as healthy foods are rich in anti-oxidants and help in the destruction of free radicals that cause inflammation- which negatively affect the skin.

Here are some skin friendly foods which help in maintaining healthy skin:

1. Milk products – Milk products have vitamin A in abundance and are healthy for the skin. One can have non-fat yogurt which is rich in live bacteria and calcium which helps in digestion and also clears the skin.

2. Fluids – Plenty of fluids are essential to keep the skin hydrated. Water helps in flushing out all the toxins from the body and also helps in digestion. It is recommended to drink at least eight glasses of water every day, but the intake of water also depends on the activity the body and outdoor temperature. Water-rich fruits like watermelon, mash melon, oranges and grapes are also a good way to get some nutritious fluid for your body.

3. Healthy oils – Apart from fluids, the skin also needs some amount of oil for the health of cell membranes. Good fatty acids include Omega 3 and Omega 6 and food which contains such nutrients include fish, such as salmon, halibut and flaxseed.

4. Nuts and grains – There are certain nuts and grains like oats barley and whole grain pasta which are rich in vitamin B and assist in building new cells. Eat a small serving of theses foods every week.

Integrating these foods in your daily diet will help keep your skin healthy and glowing.
