Updated Trends: Its summer time and the most dangerous factor ti watch out for is the harsh rays of the sun outside. Human skin is very vulnerable to sunburns and with each passing year, it is of utmost importance that one should make sure to wear a good sunscreen before stepping out in the sun. With the Earth’s ozone layer getting a lot more affected due to increased pollution, people must ensure that their hours in the sun are limited and there is adequate precaution taken to protect the skin. Although it is advised to apply sunscreen of SPF 90 and higher, it cannot guarantee that you won’t get sunburns. If a person suffers from a sunburn, here are the top five ways to treat sunburns.
1. Aloe Vera treatment – Sunburns can be treated by applying some calming aloe vera gel. The application soothes the skin and calms down the pain. Aloe can also be easily purchased from the stores or if you have an aloe vera plant at home, cut open one of the plant leaves and apply the sticky gel directly on the affected part of your body.
2. Wet cloth – Use a wet cloth or a clean damp rag and apply it directly on the burnt area. This procedure will give some temporary relief. One can also use a mixture of vinegar and water that can soak out excess heat.
3. Anti inflammatory – For sunburns, one can also use an anti inflammatory to take away the pain and also the inflammation from the skin. In extreme cases, you need to consult a doctor.
4. Papaya – In case of just a sun tan, one can apply papaya paste on the skin, which takes out all the tan from the skin. Even tomatoes can also be used to remove tan. In other cases, rubbing some the inner rind of lime on the skin and washing it off after a few minutes, can also provide some results, as long as the skin is not sore.
5. Water – The daily intake of plenty of water is essential for your body. Many people may even suffer from dehydration apart from sunburns. One should drink at least 2 liters of water per day, besides consuming a nutritious diet.
Enjoy your day out in the sun, but remember that it is better to be safe than sorry – when it comes to those sunburns. Use a cap or umbrella when you’re in the scorching sun, so that you can avoid a tan and sunburns.
